Yes, there will also be singing.
About the dark times.â

I canât help but feel like the next two months we are waiting on the edge of a precipice, the deep breath before the storm, the moment just before the last stroke of doom
âAnd as they stood so, their hands met and clasped, though they did not know it.â

car and I brainstormed some Parks and Rec election results and scenarios to make ourselves feel better. Reblog and add with your own.
- Â Leslie offers to stop eating waffles if Hillary could win and then mutters to herself a second later âNo, thatâs crazy; i canât do that. iâm sorry, Leslie.â
- Ann running over in the early hours Wednesday morning with a full nursing bag preparing for the worst
- Â Leslie, Ben, and Ann all yell âDONALD TRUMPâS NEVER HAD A REAL JOB IN HIS LIFEâ in various inflections for about twenty five minutes
- Leslie suddenly sliding to the floor every few hours when she remembers. she wraps herself in every coat, scarf, and hat she owns and hibernates in there for a day or two
- Â Leslie tackles Jamm in the hall when she comes back to work: âyou know what you did!â
- Leslie wearing and passing out buttons with the MADD logo âThe second D doesnât stand for anything. Thats just how mad I am.â
- Aann and Madeline Albright coaxing Leslie out of the bedroom when sheâs depressed
- Chris makes a list of all his favorite things about Hillary to read to Leslie and ends up crying halfway through. He goes on a marathon tour of the tri-state. Which comprises traveling to participate in marathons because he just has to keep moving for a while and not stop
- Leslie smacks her face sometimes, even years later, to see if sheâs actually just maybe still asleep
- Tom starts a new successful business called Black and Brown of the latest styles and fashions and only hires people of color
- the thing that gets Leslie out of her funk is Ron coming over and telling her how much he hates government and how he thinks the two-party system is flawed and the electoral college is ruining the country and whatsâ the point anymore. and then he shows her an I Voted sticker on which heâs written âiâm with Leslieâ. Leslie starts to cry for a few minutes and then goes âbut you actually voted for Hillary, right?â
- The Pawnee Goddessesâ next four years are already booked for visiting political representatives, staging sit-ins, protests, and fundraisers. Ron always drives the bus. Andy is in charge of new recruits. Tom designs uniforms. Ann looks pretty.
- Galentines Day becomes a movement and organization dedicated to helping women and they celebrate it every day. Waffle buttons become a symbol of the movement
- The Parks gang runs into the entire Meagle Clan at a rally. They stand slackjawed for thirty seconds. Tom faints because Ginuwine is there
- âPCP is going to seem like a walk in Roosevelt park compared to this.â Leslie shows the camera a 3-inch binder labeled âLSD: Letâs Steer Democratâ
- Andy spends a part of every Johnny Karate show educating kids about tolerance and how to be a good person
- April is president of Galentines day and has a secret binder of her plans that she wonât ever show Leslie bc sheâs pretty sure it might actually kill her
- Andy graduates with a minor in womenâs studies, goes to every protest even if heâs not always sure whatâs going on. (April explains it)
he seems like heâs only half getting it and then volunteers to speak at one protest. Â the speech is one of the most relevant, aware, inspiring speeches in modern history it goes viral on buzzfeed.
he gets invited to ellen and spends the whole time talking about finding nemo and dancing
when asked to explain how he wrote it he says he asked himself a simple question: WWLKD- April runs for senate. She wins.

It took a week and a half following the election, but President-elect Donald Trump has finally begun selecting cabinet members. On Friday, he announced that Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) is his choice for Attorney General. Former Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn will be his National Security Advisor.
Jeff Sessions has referred to the 1965 Voting Rights Act as a âpiece of intrusive legislationâ and reportedly suggested that a white lawyer might be a âdisgrace to his raceâ because he represented black clients. The NAACP routinely gives him an âFâ on its congressional scorecard.
Michael Flynn has repeatedly made it clear that he draws no distinction between organizations like ISIS and Islam as a religion. In the past, he has tweeted that fear of Muslims is âRATIONALâ (emphasis his) and that âArab & Persian world âleadersââ must renounce âIslamic ideology.â
Flynn and Sessions will work in the Trump administration alongside white nationalist figurehead Steve Bannon, the president-electâs chief strategist. That will make for at least three overt racists serving at the highest levels of government under President Trump.

Trump is stocking his administration with white nationalists
If Giuliani gets a position that will be one more white supremacist.
(via dendroica)
âFive names, three giveaways to white supremacists. Anyone who thought that Bannonâs elevation was an isolated occurrence, or that he would be a marginal figure in the new regime, should know better by now. The doctrine of the [redacted] administration will be white nationalism.â

My real worry re: Trump vs. Pence? Pence will actually get things done. Trump is lazy and inept and just wants to stir shit up. I think your worry is valid and all of that worries me too. But I think there is some chance Trump is actually the lesser of two evils. I donât think he believes most of what he says. (Not sure he believes in anything but himself) and Pence does. But South Korea could probably easily provoke Trump into doing something idiotic. Itâs all bad.
Yeah. Of course, itâs not enough to assess the odds of whether [redacted] might turn out to be a lesser evil; one also has to deal with the relative consequences of the ways in which each might turn out to be evil.
On the theory that his incompetence could mean heâll just fail, including failing at doing objectively bad things, yeah, that could be a silver lining. On the other hand, I believe the federal government has important things to do that are in the public interest. If an incompetent administration could be relied on only to fuck up the bad things while still achieving the good Iâd be a lot happier about their capacity for failure.

A year or so ago, in the midst of Bernie fever, I was talking to husband about the possibility of Trump as president and I estimated the likelihood of him using nukes in a 4 year term as about 20%. Now, with more information, I canât help but feel that was conservative. So yeah, they should impeach.
Yeah. I donât mean to over-simplify things; the ways in which stuff could go horribly wrong are a continuum, not an evenly cleaving pair of apocalyptic-vs.-merely-horrible. And I also donât want to immediately jump to predictions of the worst possible outcome. There will be many much more mundane battles to be fought either way. But at least for me, the way Iâm thinking today, Iâd take President Pence in return for keeping He Who Canât Be Named as far away from power as possible.
Not that itâs a choice Iâm likely to have any time soon. This is just me working through my personal value system as I try to process whatâs happening.

In thematically related news, itâs finally getting cold at night after that unseasonal warm spell we were having. I hope you, Poppet, and Widget are keeping warm.
