okay I know that the time travel theory started as sort of a joke
but honestly it makes more and more sense? HG saying “or are we?” about running out of time, and being alarmed when he checked his watch in episode 8
and just in general he seems pretty fixated with the time (immediately asking to go back to the attic to finish his project)
and at the very start he said “I know who did it” which implies he knows way more than he lets on
it might just be a red herring but I definitely think it’s plausible
