A Yellow-rumped warbler in Pearland! (at Shadow Creek Ranch Nature Trail)
Looks like a Myrtle, which is the more common subspecies in Texas but very much less common than Audubon’s out my way.

Tags: birds, yrwa, myrtle warbler, sorry to be pedantic about it, i recently learned to distinguish the first-year birds, so now i focus on it whenever i see them, we had one of these, at jameson lake for the christmas count, and it was doubly wild, b/c it was the first yrwa we’d seen all day.
