You’re really not going to like me – Mad Max: Fury Road (2015 movie).

I do have something that bugs to the point of hate about MMFR (not the comics, not the fact that it made less money than it deserved, not that I can’t see it in a cinema anymore)…an actual thing.

I hate the fact that at the start of the movie the Wretched know that Immortan Joe will probably release them some water. They are waiting for it, they are counting on it, they know where the water comes from. So why the fuck are they hanging back while they wait? They surge forward when the levers are pulled, and hardly anyone catches anything before it stops. Also, most of the water runs down the mesa rock-face, but everyone is trying to catch the airborne spray.

Why wouldn’t the Wretched be standing at the bottom of the cliff, competing for the best position, the second they saw the convoy being prepped???

MAKES NO SENSE!

ETA: redshoesnblueskies this is at the point of hate for me because pretty everything else does make sense in the movie (whether that’s plot/dramaturgy/character arc.) I feel like logic was sacrificed for the tableau and dramatic images could have been made without doing that. It bugged the first time I saw the movie and kept on bugging…
