^ I was going to delete the above comment because it’s annoying, but I’d like to point out that on his frantic effort to find an image of a v8, he somehow managed to find diagram of a mythical v16
Nope; that’s a V8. There are 4 cylinders on each side. You’re counting the valves or push rods, I guess, but there are 2 of those for each cylinder.
Interestingly (well, at least for me as the OP), I’d thought of including an image of a V8 in the original photoset, but after a brief search I gave up. But then leepala added that image, and it’s that version of the post that has been getting notes. So while it may be annoying, the addition of that comment apparently was the secret sauce that made the post compelling.
