My fanart for kitr is apparently “good enough for a gift but not good enough to sell”.
Meanwhile my large bowl is a “surprise to be made by [me]” and is actually “sellable”. “You’re really improving.”Thanks dad.
Dads are just people. I know from painful and repeated personal experience that they are totally fallible. They mean well. But they’re frequently idiots.
Also, dads aside, as a creator you should listen to your audience exactly as much — and exactly as little — as they deserve to be listened to. If some particular person doesn’t love something you created, fine; it wasn’t something that person loved, in that moment. Maybe that information will be helpful to you when you make your next creation. Or maybe it won’t. You get to decide.
