Tom Hiddleston vs crazy fans – 1:0 [x]

oh my god. this is insane. I mean how what did some scientist create the perfect celebrity?

He should probably teach classes on how to publicly speak with fans. Also on how to just be in general. And tons of idiotic/rude actors should attend.

He reminds me of Jennifer Lawrence in the sense that he apparently has the superpower of always being perceived in accordance with the most sympathetic interpretation of his awesomeness.

Hm. I would argue against that. There are plenty of celebrities out there who, when faced with excited fans like this, they simply walk off and say that they’re too busy to sign autographs. Either that or just completely blank their fans. Some celebrities dislike the whole signing autographs thing (Paul Newman is an infamous example).

Although Hiddleston is a little brusque here, he is doing so for his safety. If you watch the video throughout, the fans are getting extremely close to him—far too close to be considered polite, even though it’s simply because they are excited to see him. However, Hiddleston talks to them, he doesn’t brush them off. He politely but firmly asks them to be quiet, as is his right. He then devotes what little time he has to making sure that the most amount of people get a picture or even an autograph.

This isn’t me looking at him through rose-tinted glasses. It is in fact looking at the situation and what I’d do in that situation. If I’m honest, I wouldn’t do this. I would be scared by this encroaching of my personal space and probably run off to the car without looking back. Hiddleston earns my admiration because he sets aside the time to make sure his fans get the attention they want, whilst making it clear that their behaviour is not fully acceptable. All whilst being extremely polite to each and every one of them.

Jennifer Lawrence is a complete kettle of fish, but I won’t get into that now.

I was trying to be funny. I’m sorry that my ineptitude at humor made it sound like I was questioning his awesomeness.

I also didn’t even watch the video. So I’m not in a position to offer a serious criticism, even if that’s what I was intending (which, again, I wasn’t).

So: Sorry about that. Rock on TH.
