N.J. Teacher Busted for Teaching Creationism
File this one with Monica’s blue dress, Ted Haggard’s recorded phone messages, the cameraphone video of Mostafa Tabatabainejad being tasered at UCLA, and Michael Richards trying (and failing) to be funny while dropping the N-bomb on hecklers. It’s all well and good to be present when something shockingly noteworthy is happening, but having documented evidence of the shockingly noteworthy something is way better.
In this case, a high school student in New Jersey went to his principal and said his history teacher was teaching creationism in class. After a month of complaining, the kid finally got a meeting with the teacher and the principal. And the kid was apparently getting nowhere with his charges — until he produced audio recordings: Student tapes teacher proselytizing in class.
Heh.
Paszkiewicz shot down the theories of evolution and the “Big Bang” in favor of creationism. He also told his class that dinosaurs were on Noah’s ark, LaClair said.
On Oct. 10 — a month after he first requested a meeting with the principal — LaClair met with Paszkiewicz, Somma and the head of the social studies department.
At first, Paszkiewicz denied he mixed in religion with his history lesson, and the adults in the room appeared to be buying it, LaClair said. But then he reached into his backpack and produced the CDs.

What outrages me is that while indeed there is reason to question evolution and the “big bang,” one can hardly claim that there is as muc “scientific” support for crationism as there is for evolution and the “big bang.” The real issue is what is school for?
A poll I saw claims that 62% of Americans believe that the earth is less than 6000 years old. This is a free country, so you can believe whatever you want. But let us recall that the Christian Right is basically a mob that trades-in freedom for extasy….I see no difference between the people at Billy Graham’s rallies and dope addicts in a crack-house. But while most dope addicts seek a feeling inside without the corresponding sensory input from outside to trigger it– JUST AS DO CHRISTIAN RIGHT AT THEIR GATHERINGS (Holy Woodstock type elation-in)– most drug addicts only impose themselves on society when they need the means to obtain drugs. Were the drugs legal, they would be so cheap that the addicts could just isoate themselves for moths in a perpetual high until their livers bust!
In contrast, the Christian Right are a predatory lot that seek to impose their version of social morality on others. Worst still, they are also predators for gain, or at least many of their leaders are. When this moron puts forward his “dinosaurs in the arc,” he tells us that it’s not the truth but the story. That kind of PR crap we have been fed as a nation since way back. America beat the Nazis and the Communists because its propaganda PR machine was so much better. But people who love the “high of the lie” instead of the completeness of the truth, like Bush, simply FOLLOW THEIR GUT. You need not be a certified biologist to know what you end up with if you follow your gut to the end. In this case, the Christian right follwed Bush’s and neded up drowining in Bushit….I hope for them that “Jesus saves” even when drowning in a sea of Bushit!

I am still amazed that so called intelligent people believe an obvious fairy tale that is full of innaccuracies and incredulous occurrences.
What these idiots argue is that dinosaurs were either a/ in the bible but not mentioned ( despite the fact being 80 feet tall in some cases and pretty scary in others …bit worthy of note I might suggest)
or b/ dinosaurs didnt exist…in which case they state that carbon dating is a flawed process which flies in the face of virtually every scientist in the world who can prove carbon dating is valid .Thus if carbon dating is accurate what do we do with the hundreds of thousands of dinosaur remains in museums around the world..in some cases complete skeletons ??
The reason dinosaurs werent mentioned in the bible is that whoever sat on his hill tending sheep bored out his brain whilst writing all these stories for children (later to become the bible) had no clue about dinosaurs !! nor why would he ?

If these idiots would stick to their beliefs rather than imposing themselves on our children and trying to convince everyone its fact I wouldnt have a problem ..As it is I treat them with the contempt they deserve
