Kinsley: Bush As Dictator of the World

Slate’s Michael Kinsley posted an excellent piece yesterday: The Bush Doctrine: War without anyone’s permission. It’s a succinct summary of the ways in which Bush’s current actions, and his justification for those actions, betray the principles on which this country was founded. At this rate, we’ll be lucky if Bush even allows us to have elections next year.

Here’s a theory…There’ll be an election all right, but it will be rigged (maybe that sounds familiar). No matter what, he wins the White House. But sadly for the war-monger it will be his last term. Near the end of his second term a major city is engulfed my a giant fireball. Or some major “terrorist” act. This gives Bush the chance to declare marshall law, making us peasants under a totalitarian beast.
