It’s North and South, the 2004 four-hour BBC miniseries adaptation of Margaret Gaskell’s novel. I watched it via Netflix, though some googling appears to show that it can be watched free (with commercials) at a site called viki (which I’ve never used, so I don’t know how legitimate or sketchy it might be).
It (the show) is pretty awesome.
