did you get any resolution from the shadowy overlords?

No, I haven’t heard anything new from support@tumblr.com; just the stuff I’ve already posted.

I couldn’t stay away from such a wonderful group of people (you all, I mean, and the rest of you who’ve been writing such kind things about me over the last week). Thank you for making me feel part of a caring community. It was that, more than anything else, that kept me around.

I plan to post some things over the next few days about where I’m at with the Sponsored Posts thing. Briefly, though: I’m going to do my best to appreciate the things I like about Tumblr, steer clear of the things I don’t like, and maybe do a little pushing around the edges to try to make the bad stuff better.

In the meantime, I’m resuming what passes for normal Tumblr activity for me.

Thanks again.

Huh, maybe you’re right. I don’t really remember. I know that we arrived ~10 pm and left like at 4,5? I remember seeing the sunrise on the way back.

I bet you’re right, then, and Disney Grad Nite as a tradition has always worked more or less the way it does now. Which means that if I went back to high school in order to finally actually graduate (instead of getting out on the California High School Proficiency Exam, which is what I actually did), I could live the dream of actually attending Grad Nite for reals.

Speaking of which, I did actually have that dream (of going back to high school to actually graduate, not of going to Disneyland for Grad Nite) not long ago. It was oddly real-seeming, and compelling.

I guess there’s a part of me that never really left high school.

Grad night is still a thing, though. I graduated from high school in Tijuana in ‘06 and we went to Disney Grad Night. It’s pretty cool :)

I guess I knew it was still a thing. There was Grad Night at Disneyland when I was a high school senior in 1980, and when my older child graduated, which I think was in 2009. The thing that I thought sounded special about these older cases was the “all night” part. But since I never actually did Grad Night, maybe it still is that way, and I just didn’t realize? How late did you stay when you did it?
