I’m pretty sure the world will still be here whether or not CBDRILONCWRC turns out to be anything more than a punchline. Human societies organized at their current scale and without a shared experience of recent collapse and megadeath: that’s more of an open question.

Tags: climate change, dark mountain, in the grand scheme of things, which, the notion that Paris/COP21 can save the world, or that the world in any meaningful sense is at risk from climate change, makes me cranky, but then I think I was cranky already, and journalistic tropes aren't the root cause of that, i think meyer's piece is fun and worthwhile, i'm mostly upset at the clickbait headline, is a very silly attitude for me to take.
