Y’all, I think I’m about 90% sure that when Nux gets pushed out of the rig, he takes Capable’s scarf with him–I mean, yes, we all know he takes the scarf with him. My point is I think it’s Capable’s scarf in particular. I keep trying to parse it out. But I’m pretty sure. Am I right? Am I wrong? Because I want this to be right. It would be such a cool little subtle thing.

He sure does keep it wrapped around his wrist later when he throws in his lot with the rest of them. And the two of them definitely bond (I don’t ship it; I dig it as a platonic thing). Sure seems plausible is all I’m saying.

Like, IDK, am I seeing this right? Maybe? Please???

Yeah, it’s Capable’s. You see it blowing around in the shot before he falls. Angharad’s outfit isn’t billowing around like that.

I love The Iron Giant and it happened to be on this weekend. While I was watching it, it got me thinking – What would a sequel look like?!  So, I drew up these fake fan art images!

There’s no storytelling in the images but here’s what was going through my head when creating them – It’s 1969 and Hogarth is now 20 years old. He bought a beat up old motorcycle and spent the last couple of summers fixing it up at Dean’s scrapyard. He’s now out out on the open road like Kerouac. There’s a lot going on in America in 1969 (Vietnam war, Civil rights unrest, etc.) but it’s also the year when the first man walks on the Moon. It’s the perfect time for Iron Giant 2!

I would draw inspiration from films/books like Raiders of the Lost Ark, Huck Finn, Rocketeer, Into the Wild and Boyhood.…….Hey, if Blomkamp can get an Alien movie going, maybe down the road Brad Bird and Warner Bros. will let me tell the next Iron Giant story! haha! C’mon Brad Bird! :)

Actually, I’m very lucky to be working on a film with Dean Wellins right now who not only worked on The Iron Giant but is insanely talented too.

If you haven’t checked it out already – there’s an amazing MondoTees Iron Giant figure for sale – http://ift.tt/1yDzajy
