Tags: i've given it a lot of thought, and though there certainly are other contenders, this passage is my favorite in the book, eleanor is always so guarded, with good reason, but in this moment she forgets that, and the talking fast, and dropping to a whisper at the end, as she says the things she's always thinking but never says to anyone, is so honest, and so vulnerable, it breaks my heart.
