Cheedo and the Dag by the war rig

This is pretty much every frame of Cheedo and the Dag interacting by the war rig during that scene when they do (or don’t) kiss. I’m not taking a position on that. I cropped in tight on them and lightened it some to try to make the details more visible.

For context, these shots are intercut with shots of Max, who has taken a bunch of stuff from the rig and is about to go back to deal with the approaching Peacemaker. You can hear machine-gun fire in the distance. Max turns to have the conversation with Furiosa about taking the rig another half a click down the track, and answers her question about what to do if he’s not back by the time the engines have cooled with, “Well, you keep moving.” The fourth gif above (middle row, right side) is right before he says that.

These two are constantly glued together, and upon my most recent viewing on the film I noticed a kiss in the background. THEY ARE ACTUALLY A COUPLE.

During the fight between Max and Furiosa Cheedo is actually holding The Dag back for the majority of it, in the scene where Capable is asleep on Nux The Dag is wrapped around Cheedo as they sleep as well.

When Max goes to take out The Bullet Farmer Cheddo goes up to The Dag and kisses her straight on the lips.

THE MOST PHYSICALLY INTIMATE RELATIONSHIP IN THE FILM IS TWO LADIES.

Can’t believe I didn’t pick up on their kiss!

I wonder if this was a factor in Joe forcing the three who weren’t pregnant into chastity belts. He has the belts put on them shortly after The Dag objected to his intention to rape Cheedo – perhaps he realized or suspected there was something going on between the two of them and he wanted to ruin it for them.

Not to rain on the parade, but is this the moment we’re talking about?

They’re definitely holding onto and comforting each other, but I’m not sure it’s actually a kiss. I mean, it could be a kiss, at least on Cheedo’s part, though if it is the Dag doesn’t seem to be reciprocating. And it seems like an odd moment for full-on kissing to be going on. But maybe I’m looking at the wrong moment.

And wasn’t Cheedo trying to return to Joe throughout the movie? She had to be restrained at one point,

She tried to run back when she was distraught about Angharad, but my interpretation of that is that it was more about going back for Angharad than about returning to Joe. And in the final chase I think she was playing a trick on Rictus in order to get on the Gigahorse to help Furiosa.
