Hi! I wanted to say I’m a big fan and am really looking forward to more of Poe Party! I was also wondering, if you don’t mind my asking, what inspired you and Sean to write the show?
I’m so thrilled you’re enjoying the show!!! I’ve always been a Poe fan. His ghostly dark tales always spoke to the peculiar part of my soul.
In college I wrote a short sketch called “Edgar Allan Poe Buys Girl Scout Cookies” which blossomed into the improv based vlog “A Tell Tale Vlog”. In that show, Lenore makes an offhanded comment about a dinner party that Edgar had.
Sean and I thought…hey, that dinner party would make a cool series! Think of all the shenanigans and weird chemistry Poe and Lenore could have with other authors. Sean and I are huge nerds and had an absolute blast writing comedic versions of the authors that ended up attending the party.
