I met this chill ass bird on Sunday. He was just hanging out all relaxing all cool. I called him Brood and he let me get nearly close enough to touch him before literally walking off. He didn’t even try to fly.

Hm. It’s a little hard to get a sense of scale, which would be the first thing I’d use if I were seeing this bird in person to try to narrow things down. If there were a coin or a human hand or foot or something else of known size in the shot it would make identifying the bird easier. I should probably be able to use those leaves for scale, but I don’t know them well enough to know how big they are.
At a guess I’d say it might be an adult female Brewer’s blackbird. There seems to be something going on around its eyes; perhaps some kind of fungal growth or other disease? That might account for the docile behavior; the bird may have vision problems that make it reluctant to fly.
