The first GIF in this post is the animated title sequence to our show, designed by the wonderful Gica Tam. What show, you might ask? Announcement time!

For the better part of the past year, I’ve been developing I Ship It as a series for the CW Seed. Though this series shares the same creative team behind the short film I Ship It (myself, Brian Grider & Kirstyn Hippe, as well as much of the same key crew), we’re playing with new characters, new stories, and a new spin on a familiar universe.

I SHIP IT premieres on Thursday, June 23 on the CW Seed

The Story: Ella Spencer forms a nerd rock band with her roommate Tim and two summer interns, Sasha and Denver. Musical adventures ensue!

Created by Yulin Kuang
Music by Brian Grider & Kirstyn Hippe

Starring:
Helen Highfield as Ella
Riley Neldam as Tim
Yasmine Al-Bustami as Sasha
Jacqui Calloway as Denver

Release Schedule:
June 23: Episodes 1-4
June 30: Episodes 5-7
July 7: Episodes 8-10

This 10-episode series is a musical adventure and features 15 original songs by Brian Grider & Kirstyn Hippe and performed by our spectacularly talented cast (everyone did their own singing!) I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE SOUNDTRACK TO THIS SERIES.

This show has been a massive labor of love for so many people – our entire cast and crew absolutely killed it from development to post-production – and I’m thrilled to be able to share it with you soon. And nervous. And excited. And feeling a lot of feelings, IDK!

Keep an eye out on this space / twitter / snapchat / YouTube as I’m going to be sharing more things leading up to the premiere.

I’ll also be doing some behind-the-scenes stuff on this blog and also at VidCon – if there’s anything BTS-related that you’re particularly interested in, please let me know! Here are two BTS posts (on casting & on production) that I made during production. You can also see the tiniest bit of previews in this video on my channel.

#ISHIPITSERIES, it’s happening! I’m hyped! Get hyped with me?!

Much love,

Yulin Kuang
