Randomised Hamlet
So I just got home from watching a first table-read for a production of Hamlet. It is streamlined to be performed by 7 actors:
- Hamlet
- Horatio and Ophelia
- Claudius and Rosencrantz
- Gertrude and Guildenstern
- Ghost and Gravedigger
- Polonius and Priest and Osric
- Laertes
But all of the actors will learn all of the parts, and before each performance, they will pull names out of a hat to decide who plays which character that night!
This sounds like so much fun to watch.
