Tags: there were some really good movies this year, I haven't seen room or spotlight, bridge of spies was a great tom hanks performance, but a little heavy-handed in the story, with some spielberg elements, I could have done without, the martian was fun, but not best-picture level for me, the big short wasn't really a best-picture experience either, despite being interesting and well-done and cool, but those last three, any of those are credible contenders, any of them winning best picture would make my day, they're each so different, but so powerful in their own ways.
