Can Tumblr make it so we can reply to people’s posts again?
Yes! Replies were admittedly way too limited and barely used. (Only a few thousand blogs a month were even receiving them.) They’re down for upgrades but will be back and much improved! Thanks for your patience. 🐬
I’ve seen a lot of posts about how new features are not a good replacement for replies. That’s because they aren’t a replacement–they’re just new features. I think we will get replies back. They’re doing something to them?? IDK if we’ll think it’s an improvement. I don’t know when we’ll get them back. I don’t know why they ditched the old ones way in advance of being able to replace them. But tumblr runs every day and shows me many wonderful things and it’s free. So. I’m going to hope for the best and be prepared for something weird that either xkit will repair or we’ll get used to, or maybe it might be cool. They have done cool things–like give us tumblr.
I’m less optimistic, but I’m going to pin my hopes on this theory and do my best to be patient. Thanks for the dose of positive thinking!
