Tags: my wife asked me today about her shoes, did I think the blue ones looked okay?, or would the red ones be better?, i cocked my head, the way a dog does, I didn't know, but I desperately wanted to be helpful, so I looked at it with the blue, and I tried to picture it with the red, and the blue was _closer_ to the rest of what she had on, and the red was going to be very different than the rest of what she had on, and I had a sense that the contrast of the red _could_ be better, but would it be dramatically better?, be like whoa! chocolate and peanut butter! awesome!, or like meh. did you _look_ at what you were wearing before you went out?, so I suggested the red might be better, and she tried it, and it was, but not like this, because I would never have put these colors together, not today, and certainly not in the 50s, but I see them together here, and it's just, like whoa.
