I just also wanted to add that Lionsgate, Women in Film, and Stephenie Meyer have all been so very lovely to me throughout this tremendous experience. We premiered the shorts on Monday night at the Arclight Hollywood, which was the first movie theater in LA that I ever saw a movie in – so that was nifty!
On the day of the online premiere, Stephenie hosted a brunch with all the screenwriters and directors (who are all so talented and supportive and I’m so lucky to be included in this group of awesome ladies in film), and there was this one kind of surreal point where I noticed Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell on a book shelf and Stephenie and I got to chatting about our favorite Rainbow Rowell books and I was just like eeeeefandomsarecollapsingandeverythingiswonderfuleeeeee #internalscreamingandflailing while externally I’m all YES I AGREE ELEANOR & PARK IS WONDERFUL AND I AM ALSO LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING HOW SHE HANDLES THE SIMON SNOW BOOKS OKAY IMMA EAT ANOTHER MACAROON BEFORE I LOSE MY DAMN CHILL.
And then they sent me off with a whole bag of brunch treats because I told them I had a 7-hour drive ahead of me back to a summer camp where I’ve been teaching young kids ages 8-14 about filmmaking. Seriously though, WHAT LOVELY PEOPLE.
