Production stills from our first Shipwrecked Comedy shoot at the YouTube Space LA! We’re staying cryptic on what exactly this project is, but we’re quite excited about it. We’re also incredibly grateful – we wouldn’t be able to shoot at the YouTube Space without the support of our subscribers, you guys are the tops!

It’s been a while since we last checked in with Edgar and Lenore… what have they been up to? Some tell tale answers coming soon.

Something’s brewing.

I’m intrigued by Lenore’s, and especially Poe’s, facial expressions in these. They seem to promise something new, something we haven’t seen from the characters before.

Which, I mean, of course. Why would any fan of Shipwrecked expect it to be otherwise?

So on top of my joy at knowing there will be more Poe and Lenore, I have the added excitement of thinking that the more might also be more.

I hope it’s soon.

I think what you may be reacting to is Poe looking happy and/or pleased. It’s certainly a new facial expression for Edgar. He’s probably not used to it himself.

lies, unrelatedly, I recently came to the conclusion that our version of Poe as played by Sean is a massive unintentional nod to Daniel Day Lewis’ Cecil in A Room With a View. Agree/Disagree?

I hadn’t thought of it before, but there is a definite echo of Cecil in your Poe.

I don’t want to read to much into a few still photos, but besides his looking happy, there’s also that look of anger in the fourth image, and an almost villainous sense of glee in the last one.

I think the thing that strikes me about all three of those is his apparent lack of self-doubt. They all look like someone who isn’t being tortured, at least for the moment, by the knowledge of his own pathetic nature. When I try to imagine the Poe of ATTV looking like that, I have a feeling that it would take something dramatic to make him look that way. And that makes me wonder what that something dramatic could be.

Also, what’s Lenore writing? It looks like a letter that she’s sealing. Who is the letter for? What’s in it?
