7 & 13.

7. A film you wish had a sequel.  Almost any romantic comedy. Because after watching the angst and pain and awkwardness before the couple finally ends up together, I really want to see what happens next.

Especially Love Actually.  So many story lines!  And it’s been 11 years now. I want to know how Peter and Juliet’s marriage is doing, since Peter’s best friend declared his love for her. When they have a fight sometime (as all couples do) does Juliet start imagining if things would be better with Mark? Has that injected a huge ‘what if’ into the relationship?

How do the tabloids treat Natalie when they find out she’s dating the Prime Minister? Do they call her fat? (She’s not fat.) How long do things stay awkward between Sarah and Karl at work? How does Sarah react when Karl brings his new girlfriend to the office Christmas party one year? Does Sarah ever find someone else? (Can Sarah please be happy?) And what about Harry and Karen? Do they stay together, for the sake of the kids, but things are terrible between them?

And when is it revealed that Colin’s American “girlfriend” and her “sister” are fucking scamming him? Because it’s pretty obvious that they’re not really sisters (why does only one of them have a bad southern accent?)

13. Your favorite comedy film.  Groundhog Day.

Honorable Mentions for Back to the Future and The Big Lebowski.
