I’m not sure I’d actually wear it. But I do kind of want one of these shirts.
I feel like I’ve missed some stuff??? Where is the whole “mean fandom” thing coming from? I know there were some bad anons who were being rude and unkind to some people who were posting EA Crit, but did I miss a big blog or something? I can’t find anything on Bernie’s tumblr though… help?
It’s based on a quote of Bernie Su in this LA Weekly blog post. He’s subsequently backed away from it somewhat; see this Twitter exchange. Among people I follow, rammi and thedovenest seem to be keeping track of and reblogging most of the Tumblr commentary about it, so if you look at their blogs you can find more.
Personally I’m not outraged. But I think it’s revealing, and I think some of the response has been pretty funny.
