There was a time when I was about 15 or 20 that for some reason some channel started showing Australian Rules Football on TV in the US. It was on at weird times and you had to seek it out. But that just blew my mind. I’d never imagined that such a thing existed. I watched it every chance I got.
My favorite part was when the guy in the long raincoat would run out and do the arm gesture to indicate that someone had scored, either the one-arm thing for what I thought of as a field goal or the two-arm thing for what I thought of as a touchdown. I thought that was hilarious.
