Visit my other blog for my review of The Sibley Guide to Birds: Second Edition. The TL;DR version is that the new edition improves on the excellence of the first edition.
When birders get together in the field and for some reason they aren’t talking about birds, they’re probably talking about field guides. I began as a Peterson birder, because back in those days the Peterson guides were the only good comprehensive ones. But since the first Sibley came out in 2000, I’ve very much been a Sibley guy.
Very much looking forward to the new edition.
