Slates for Sarah  [X]

Last week in Georgia there was a terrible accident on a film set. The crew thought they had permits to film on a train track, and were setting up a shot when an unexpected train came through, killing Sarah Jones (27), and injuring several others. After the fact, it was discovered they didn’t have permission to film ON the tracks, but instead near the tracks. Basically as a crew member, you trust that the higher ups have your safety as a priority. You trust your team. You trust the chain of command. Someone let that team think they were safe when they weren’t and a woman died, and it could have been any one of us.

There’s been a viral outpouring of love and support for Sarah Jones. Shows across the world have been adding Sarah’s name to their slates remember her. It’s a small gesture, but a beautiful tribute. These are just a few of the hundreds of pictures from crews across the world, dedicating their slates for Sarah.

I highly recommend reading the first link because it’s from a crew members perspective, but if you want more info beyond that: [X][X][X]

In addition, people are petitioning to get her name added to the Academy Awards In Memoriam tribute: [X]
