The varnished spars, the miter-cut staysail, the narrow panels in the main, the hanks on the headstay, the general laid-back vibe… Everything about this photo (except for the anachronistic asymmetrical spinnaker) makes me feel nostalgic for my childhood, learning to race offshore in the 1960s on a boat built in the 1920s.
