Art of the Day: There’s Only One Of Him

And then there’s this little piece of mine depicting my favorite scene in Eleanor and Park (cue buckets of tears) and it’s so personal to me that I was having doubts about sharing this painting. I wanted this to be my secret. Because art is personal. It is a reflection of your experiences, your vision, and your soul. And sharing it is like sharing a part of you that you don’t want anybody to find out. Like sharing your greatest dream. Or turning yourself inside out. But as much as I wanted to keep this art to myself, I also want to be courageous and bold. I don’t want to cheat myself out of the opportunity to share something that’s done out of love.
So here’s me being courageous: this painting is my reflection.
(It goes without saying but thank you, Rainbow Rowell. This book broke me and made me whole in a span of one day. It was AH-MAH-ZING. I keep it close to my heart, always.)
