What’s next?

Hark, our first question! And a very fine first question indeed. The answer comes in multiple parts, because life is complicated and we’re trying not to make a mess.

In the immediate future, we have a couple of team intro/update videos for you guys, in which we’ll answer some questions, tell you a bit about ourselves and update you guys on our upcoming projects, shooting in mid-December.

The next big project is going into production in mid-December. We’ve locked our shooting dates, most of our cast and locations and crew, and we’re so, so, so excited to embark on our next Shipwrecked adventure with you! We can tell you at this point that it will be a comedy, it will be a webseries, it will feature some familiar faces as well as some fresh ones, it will feature some historical/period elements as well as some present-day ones, and it will not be vlog-format, necessarily. What else? Edgar might make an appearance. Also Annabelle Lee. Oh no we’ve said too much.

What else? Blerg, you shipsters are hard to satisfy! Very well, if you insist, we will carry on. We’ve been blown away by 1) the talent of the two artists we entrapped with free food employed for our Draw My Life videos for Edgar and Lenore and 2) the audience response to these videos. We’re glad you enjoyed them, because we so loved making them. Our inner Scrooge McDuck also loved how low the production costs were, compared to that for the physical production of A Tell Tale Vlog. So what does that mean? Well, we’re pleased to announce TWO WHOLE NEW THINGS FROM THE UNIVERSE OF A TELL TALE VLOG:

1) Socially Awkward Poe Draws the Lives of Other Tortured Artists
Yeah, we’re working on the title, but you get the idea. Edgar has a lot of friends and artists he admires, who all have had similarly angst-ridden backgrounds and we think their stories need telling. Expect these to be as thoroughly researched as our last video that was loosely based on a brief skimming of a Wikipedia article.

2) Totally Terrifying Ghost Stories with Lady Ghost Lenore
Another micro-series in which Lenore the Lady Ghost regales you with some totally terrifying ghost stories. Though for her, those would just be stories. And she might have a different idea of what’s terrifying than Edgar.

We’ll be shooting these in December as well, and hopefully have them ready for release before the end of the year.

What else? Is there no satisfying you?! Fine, one more thing, but this time you have to do something for us first.

Shipwrecked is launching a Tell Tale Vlog fanfiction/fanart contest on Tumblr starting now through December 1, 2013. Submit by tagging it on Tumblr as “shipsters ftw”. Three-ish winners will get their pick of some pretty swell prizes, such as input on which tortured artists Socially Awkward Poe should cover first, a book from the set of A Tell Tale Vlog, or a video of Edgar Allan Poe reading a sonnet of your choice.

Shipwrecked Shipsters Tumblr Contest Rules:
1. Keep it PG/PG-13
2. If you’d like to win, no shipping Poe/Lenore… our actors are siblings and that pairing will probably unavoidably prejudice us against your submission. But hey, you can always ship Poe/Annabelle Lee, Lenore/John Proctor, or not ship anything at all! Ships are known to get wrecked from time to time, after all.
3. Be okay with us reblogging your submission.
4. Submit by tagging on Tumblr as “shipsters ftw” by midnight on December 1, 2013. If you’d like to doubly ensure we see it, you can also email us at shipwreckedsketch[at]gmail[dot]com with “tumblr shipsters ftw” in the subject line.
5. If you win, respond with your choice of prize within a timely manner so we can get to work on it.

What else? Nothing else! Leave us alone! We can’t work with all this pressure! Just kidding, don’t go anywhere, we obviously wouldn’t be here without you. Oh, and please subscribe to Shipwrecked on YouTube, if you haven’t already.

Much love,

Yulin, Sinead, & Sean
