Tags: in my nanowrimo novel i've spent the last day or so writing a sequence at a party, that is basically exactly this, and amid all the doubts of trying to reconstruct such a scene from 35-year-old memories, it is tremendously reassuring to find confirmation that yeah, that's how it is, so I really appreciated this post for idiosyncratic selfish reasons, but I would have appreciated it on its own merits anyway.
