- Emma’s friends and clients are aware that Emma is recording many things
- They are not aware that their videos are being posted on the internet, because Emma is not posting them
- Emma’s public channel and Pemberley Digital’s channel are out of world to her and the other characters.
Okay, so: I can talk myself into ignoring the “why is Emma tweeting links to her not-on-the-Internet videos” inconsistency, whereas I was tearing my hair out over the “why the F*%& is Jane suddenly ignoring Lydia’s videos for no good reason” inconsistency. That evens out to a reasonable compromise. Not perfect, but I’m all right with it.
This means the transmedia people will have to hint at the events of the videos in the character Twitter accounts just enough for us to engage with them. Interesting challenge.
Oh, hm. I haven’t been following the Twitter accounts this time around (other than to enjoy the Twitter convos people have reposted on Tumblr). But yeah, that seems kind of problematic, if Emma is tweeting links to the out-of-world posted videos. I guess those tweets would have to be considered out-of-world too.
Not too mind-blowing, I guess, and maybe necessary, but a little unfortunate in terms of adding to the suspension-of-disbelief burden.
