Our Moon, forever to be graced by the footprints of twelve brave men.
Besides the twelve men who walked on the moon’s surface, I also like to think about the twelve other men who flew around the moon but never got a chance to land:
- Apollo 8: Frank Borman, Jim Lovell, and William Anders
- Apollo 10: Thomas Stafford (along with John Young and Eugene Cernan, but they subsequently landed on the moon as part of Apollos 16 and 17, respectively)
- Apollo 11: Michael Collins
- Apollo 12: Richard Gordon
- Apollo 13: Jim Lovell (again), Jack Swigert, and Fred Haise
- Apollo 14: Stuart Roosa
- Apollo 15: Alfred Worden
- Apollo 16: Ken Mattingly
- Apollo 17: Ronald Evans
