If you haven’t seen Kenney Chesney’s The Boys of Fall, watch it, it answers the question and the answer is no, it doesn’t matter, that is a momemt he will have until he dies. If you ever played high school sports, especially if it was in a small town it is one of the best videos ever. For being kind of a goof Joe Namath is perfect. I don’t know if the opening pep talk is staged or not but it doesn’t matter, if it didn’t happen it should have.
