The Only-Slightly-Exaggerated Meg Whitman TV Spot

Those of you who don’t live in California have your own crosses to bear, I’m sure, but you can be thankful for one thing: You’ve been spared the months-long onslaught of advertising promoting Meg Whitman for governor. Just so you don’t feel left out, here’s an ever-so-slightly tweaked version of what we Californians have been putting up with:

She is blowing something like $150 million bucks (so far) to lose by roughly ten points. She’s your typical rethug liar, cheat, too good for normal folk e-hole. I am sick of throwing her mailers in the recycle bin. We get up to a half dozen a day!

And Carly Fiorina? You have got to be joking me. That woman’s name is synonymous with failure in the bay area (she’s been voted one of the worst CEOs, ever). I know folks who work/worked at HP: they never say her name without a curseword attached.

looks like Meg recalls the Good Ol Days… when Jerry Brown was Governor

and I like how Arnie won’t endorse Meg, yet they seem so alike…

    lol!

Wow, that is amazing, she has to be going down in flames.

That’s a slam dunk political ad.

Meg might as well just admit that she’s finally realized that she has had a longstanding subconscious school-girl’s crush on Jerry Brown that compelled her into the race just to get closer to him, but that it had also caused her to sabotage her own campaign with silly outdated RNC talking points, but now she fully realizes the futility of it all since it is clear even to herself that she is not worthy of continuing in this race. It’d have about the same effect.

not sure if this will paste format properly, but this is an interesting race:

Pollster Date Brown (D) Whitman (R)
    PPP(D) 10/27/10 53 42
    Fox News/POR-Rasmussen 10/26/10 50 41
    LA Times/USC 10/24/10 52 39
    Rasmussen Reports 10/24/10 48 42
    PPIC 10/21/10 44 36
    Survey USA 10/20/10 47 40
    Wilson Research 10/20/10 44 45

Not a bad week for Brown, and if these ads are just starting to run then the trend will continue…

    shcb,
You’ve (sort of) trashed NPR. Any comments on PBS with respect to this:

    ?
(Interested to hear your opinion. I’m not planning on weighing in either way -unless you say something really stupid. Just curious what you think.) Cheers.

    FYI – is this true?

I don’t know, I never thought of PBS as a place where I would get my news, they are the documentary channel, the classical music channel, Austin City Limits classical. Hell, they are the Red Green channel, but not news. I assume PBS gets its funding similar to NPR with a little under 10% from the feds, 40% or so from member donations and the rest from foundations and corporate sponsors, and yes, those interests will be served. Masterpiece Theater has always been one hundred percent paid for by the oil industry. If the government paid for PBS 100% would you think they would ever do a piece on governmental waste? Of course not.

    good riddance Meg Witless
spent something like $160 million of her money to lose by over 25%
not sure how much cash the chamber of commerce ($ – China) poured into that race as well…

did the Rs make *any* inroads in cali?
looked like a D sweep from what I could see (note, didn’t look real hard)
