I read Turner’s piece yesterday, and what strikes me most is that he has been on the inside for decades and knows how the business works as completely as anyone possibly could. I suppose his expertise might be rivaled by, say, Rupert Murdoch; but who would you believe? What Turner says on this should be treated as gospel.

Excellent article. I agree that the position presented should be taken as an accurate representation of the reality of the media.
My only question is how the news capability of the internet may swing these issues.
