Bush Not Allowed to Run for Re-Ellection in Illinois

“…the Illinois legislature adjourned earlier this week without extending the Aug. 30 deadline for presidential candidates to be certified by the state elections board and qualify for the Nov. 2 ballot. …
The relatively late dates of this year’s Republican Party convention, running Aug. 30 to Sept. 2, mean that Bush will not be the official nominee until after the deadline … As a result Illinois, is the only state where Bush could be left off the ballot. ”
Update: whoops, yeah the source URL would have been a good thing to post. (This is why you shouldn’t post in a rush.)

Actually, President Bush’s War on Terrorism has been eminently successful. We had had no successful attacks in the U.S. or Canada since 2001. He took bold, effective action. Al Qaeda is cowering in fear, and the U.S. is in a great position of strength and respect worldwide. You are watching the media, but I have been traveling Europe and many, many of the people there are very much in agreement with our policies. They have been struck by terrorism, too, but countries like Spain do not have the guts to stand and resist evil, but pull out and go home when threatened with death and destruction. This just gives victory to the homicide Muslims.

    Have a happpy day!

Alas, the issue has been resolved, Bush is on the ballot, and Illinois Dems couldn’t even manage to get any usefull legislation passed in return for bending the rules…

I have listened to the debates. I feel Mr. Kerry doesn’t know what he is talking about. If it had been possible to go to the bargaining table with the Iraqis or the insurgents, it would have already been done. You cannot talk to these people. Their mind is made up and they would rather have Americans dead than to reason with us.

I will vote for President Bush
