Britney Caught Smoking?

The New York Post is running a photo that they claim shows Britney Spears smoking a cigarette on the balcony of her hotel in Australia. (See, along with saying she wouldn’t have sex before marriage, she’s also been quoted as saying she wouldn’t smoke.) I dunno; it’s not a very clear picture. But I think I’ve found my new poll question.

I am really tired of all these jealous ass people out in the world. For God’s sake will everyone leave the girl alone. Yes, we all know that she is beautiful and has a great body but I see nothing wrong with her and people talk as if she sleeps with everyone is meets. People need to just get over it….just because she has everything and you don’t. Please shut the hell up! and about her smoking, she isn’t a little girl anymore I think she proved that with the “I’m a Slave” video and moving in with justin.

I don’t think anyone should be called jealous for having an opinion…..With that said….
Did anyone ever notice how far down Britney’s record sales were until she started showing skin and being skanky? Well I did. We all know she isn’t talented (seen her in concert twice, she can’t sing), that’s a given. Having to show off her body like she does to get attention is something people do in PLAYBOY. Pop music doesn’t need a person who’s going to barely dress at all and flaunt around like she’s gods gift to earth. She’s said from the begining that she’s sort of role model for up and coming singers….What kind of impression is she giving these people? That it’s okay to wear clothes that hardly cover anything just to get ahead?
Now that I’ve said my peice. I dare someone to call me jealous because I don’t have to dress like a skank to get someone to notice me. Being yourself is much more appropriate.

Nothings wrong with smoking when your 22, I’m 25 and me and my boyfriend started smoking on 27th May at a nightclub. Britney also said she doesn’t believe in booze or having sex until your married, well I said that and I have sex all the time and I’m not married. I said I don’t believe in smoking and drinking. I smoke about a packet every day and drink about 5 a day and I love it! My mum ana dad don’t talk to me either, well FUCK them!!!

It’s Britney’s life, if she chooses to smoke, then fine. It’s not as if your her fairy godmother or something. Why do people always make a big deal about celebs and their health, or who they sleep with? IT’S NONE OF OUR BUISNESS! If you found out your next door neighbours smoked for the first time, you wouldn’t make a big deal out of it. Just coz Britney is a celeb, doesn’t mean she has to do what her fans say, or anyone for that matter. Its her life, and if she chooses to smoke, then let her!!!!!!!!!! LEAVE CELEBS TO THEIR OWN BUSINESS!

Well, but this is the flip-side of their celebrity. If we “left them to their own business” that would presumably extend to not buying their albums, or buying tickets to their concerts, or bothering to watch awards shows where they are presenters. Britney had that sort of privacy. But she intentionally gave it up.
You could argue that public people have a right to their private lives, and they do, certainly. And I wouldn’t have a problem with a performer who made a point of maintaining very strict boundaries between their public persona and their private life. But Britney is an example of a performer who has intentionally and repeatedly torn down that wall. When she gives interviews in which she touts her personal abstinence-until-marriage, non-smoking values (as she did, early in her career), and when she goes out of her way to garner the kind of People-magazine publicity that arguably has been instrumental in her success as a celebrity, she gives up the right to turn around and cry foul when people express an unhealthy interest in her private life.
But yeah, whatever. I actually couldn’t care less about Britney. I’m not even sure how she ended up playing such a large role in this site’s celebrity coverage. Just one of those things, I guess.

She’s not a singer, she’s a performer – singers are performers but not all performers are singers. And as a performer, she built her image on being a squeaky clean virgin. Now she’s not anymore, and she gets angry when people care or ask her, but she’s the one who started it all. She says she wants people to keep uot of her business, that she wants to be respected for her qualities as a performer – but she’s asking for attention on her private life by the image she built. Kind of a vicious circle. I think she’s a victim of the image that was built for her. I don’t thing she’s a sex monster, and to be honest with you, she doesn’t even look like sex to me in her latest video. It’s fake, she’s pretending and she’s giving people what they want as opposed to surprising people with what they do not expect (kind of what Madonna built her image on).
