I just saw the post of people asking for your url and I find it hilarious because there are so many blogs with great urls that are completely dead yet people ask for yours even though you have an active blog. makes no sense

Srsly wtf I know right? And why this URL? I mean, it’s not exactly a term one would be proud of. I hope at least that the owners of @truth, @justice, and @beauty get as many URL requests as I do.

what? really? You’ll give it to me? :D

Monday, February 24th, 2014

Sure. But only to you. And I have to be sure that it really is you, not some impostor trying to horn in on your good fortune.

Hm. Assuming this is you. How do I even know you’re the same anon I was originally talking to? You should be ashamed of yourself, trying to steal anon #1’s URL.

neat things about snails:

  • they hibernate! it doesn’t even have to be winter either sometimes theyre just not really feeling it so they get extra gooey and sleep it off
  • most snails live at least 5 years but if they aren’t eaten or squished they can keep on bein cool ass…

Hi Yulin! I loved the latest idwt–somehow I’ve never read Prufrock but I will now! I also had to download the music. But anyway, I would love to see what you could do with anything by Jeanette Winterson, who writes prose with language that feels like poetry (to me anyway). But she’s still alive. Do you need things that are out of copyright? (I know you did something from John Green but that’s a special case since he’s supportive of fanworks.)

Sunday, February 23rd, 2014

I’m so glad to hear it, that’s exactly the goal of this series!

With every project we take on where copyright might get a little murky, I usually do some research on the writer/creator to see how receptive they’ve been to fanwork in the past. John Green is a good example because I’ve found two videos (1, 2) in which he’s stated his support of fanmade work and explained his feelings about the tricky details of copyright enforcement. I’m also currently working on a Fangirl adaptation, mostly because Rainbow Rowell’s tumblr presence suggests she’s an enthusiastic creator who’s supportive of fanwork.

These are also smaller-scale projects which I can tackle relatively quickly without needing crowdfunding, so that’s another factor.

Hope that answers your question! Thanks for watching and commenting!

Sunday, February 23rd, 2014

“Allow intelligent design into science textbooks, lecture halls, and laboratories, and the cost to the frontier of scientific discovery—the frontier that drives the economies of the future—would be incalculable. I don’t want students who could make the next major breakthrough in renewable energy sources or space travel to have been taught that anything they don’t understand, and that nobody yet understands, is divinely constructed and therefore beyond their intellectual capacity. The day that happens, Americans will just sit in awe of what we don’t understand, while we watch the rest of the world boldly go where no mortal has gone before.”

Do it if you want! Just let me know what you change it too as I get confused on my dash easily!

Will make a post about it if I do it, so people don’t think I suddenly disappeared…

Reblogging for interesting discussion. And also so I can put it in the tag.

ellendegeneres:

Lupita Nyong’o talks about how strange the rumors about her are. Ellen can relate.

I finally finished 12 Years a Slave. Of the Best Picture candidates I’ve seen (all but Philomena, Nebraska, and Wolf of Wall Street), it would get my vote. I don’t know; it kind of comes down to a subjective definition of what a “Best Picture” even is. But for me, of the ones I’ve seen, it’s that.

I’d also probably vote for Chiwetel and Lupita in their respective actor categories, though I haven’t seen two (Best Actor) or three (Supporting Actress) of the five nominees in each of those categories, so I don’t really deserve a vote.

tl;dr: She did a really good job acting in that movie.

YOU”RE WRITING A NOVEL!? What’s it about? Plot, characters, setting, social commentary, tropes, symbolism, possible ships to look forward too, I NEED TO KNOW!!!!

Saturday, February 22nd, 2014

Yes. I have two finished novels, which live in drawers. My third novel is in my agent’s hands and I am not allowed to talk about it. I wrote half of the novel that would come after that one, but put it aside. So now there is this new book and I’m not quite ready to say much, if anything, about it yet. It’s YA. It involves massively complicated lies.
