Day 6 of Staycation
A relatively uneventful day, but we did take a short hike in the late afternoon.
An immature Black-crowned Night-Heron is what I’d bet on if it was night-heron-sized. If it was smaller maybe a Green Heron? American Bittern is a possibility, but they’re usually much more shy and hard to see, keeping themselves hidden in tall reeds.
If you can get a cellphone picture it would give me more to work with, even if it’s a distant/small photo. But that’s obviously completely optional – I don’t want to butt in on your fun walk with obnoxious demands – especially when you’ve already provided such lovely shots.
