Endorsements
Lost in the Powell endorsement media furor is the news from last week that Obama scored another important endorsement: The Chicago Tribune. Yes, a dead-tree media institution of a decidedly conservative bent, this venerable 161 year old newspaper has endorsed Barack Obama for President. They were also strong supporters of another gangly inexperienced state Senator from IL by the name of Abraham Lincoln. This is their first ever endorsement of a Democratic candidate for President.

Of slightly less significance is the St. Louis Today endorsement.

shcb, they also think that Obama has simply appeared more presidential.

For the record, shcb, “presidential” relates much to the dealing with problems in a mature and balanced manner that builds on successes and minimizes flaws.
You know, the opposite to the Rebublican approach we’ve grown accustomerd to over the past 8 years and the opposite of the approach McCain usually takes. For example, take his inflamatory and hate inciting statements about ACORN at the presidential debate that have let loose the mobs with pitch forks: http://www.rightwingwatch.org/content/hate-you-can-believe-acorn-deluged-threatening-and-racist-voicemails-and-emails

ouch – this one’s gotta sting
Conservative legal scholar and Reagan Solicitor General Charles Fried, who just endorsed Obama, isn’t just a Republican. He’s actually one of McCain’s campaign advisors.

oh and in other news that fat chick in Pittsburg who claimed a 200lb 6’4″ black man robbed her and carved a “B” into her cheek after seeing she was a McCain supporter has confessed that she made it up (not sure about the robbery, but the poli-hate crime thing). Key evidence? She wrote the B backwards on her cheek – too stupid to realize how a mirror works.

I now realize why Palin/McCain don’t have any fresh policy ideas, they pay Palin’s stylist more than her foreign policy advisor!
Turns out Ms. Average-Joe-Six-Pack-the-Plumber-Hockey-Mom is a pretty high maintenance biatch.
The pitbul wears Prada.

The Democratic ticket has an even more impressive lead when it comes to college newspapers — 63 to 1, according to UWIRE’s Presidential Endorsement Scorecard.
Thats a sight better than the greater than 2:1 advantage Obama has in regular newspaper endorsements.
