M6 (Butterfly Cluster) (Open Cluster, in Scorpius)

M 6 is a fairly difficult object due to its southern declination, but it can be easily seen if you have a clear southern horizon. It is composed of approximately ten bright stars disposed in the form of a rectangle, and other 40 stars of medium brightness.

NGC 6440 is a mag. 9.7 cluster in Sagittarius. It has a bright core, but it's unresolved into stars even with averted vision.

NGC 6934 is large and bright. With averted vision it's partially resolved into stars, towards the edges.

NGC 7006 is a mag. 10.6 cluster in Delphinus. It's very small, faint, condensation is visible towards the core.

NGC 6445 (Little Gem Nebula) in Sagittarius is small and pretty faint. It has a round shape, and gets brighter towards the center. Close to the nebula, in the west, I've seen a bright double star.

NGC 7742 is small and faint. I've observed a dim star very close to the galaxy.

NGC 5005 has an elliptic shape and stellar nucleus.

13th magnitude NGC 5198 is located only a few minutes from M 51, the great galaxy in Canes Venatici. It is easily seen in the eyepiece, it has a stellar nucleus.

Separated only 25' from the famous globular cluster M 13, you will find NGC 6207, a magnitude 12.2 galaxy. It has an elliptic shape, with condensation towards the bright nucleus.

NGC 2855 is a mag. 12.3 galaxy in Hydra, located 25' W of 26 Hydrae. It has a round shape and small size, with a diffuse but evident nucleus.

NGC 7160 is a small cluster in Cepheus, composed of 10 faint stars that surround a brighter one. In the south I've noticed two bright stars.

NGC 1857 is a large, dense cluster in Auriga. It's mostly composed of 7th mag. stars.

M 78 is faint and elongated, it surrounds two 10th mag. stars.

NGC 1977 surrounds five stars arranged in an U pattern, and is elongated towards the south. It's split into three areas, according to brightness. The brightest part surrounds the star 42 Orionis. The medium bright part is located to the W. The faintest part is visible with averted vision towards the south.
