Finally, a sunspot #AR2706 has finally appeared on the sun. I observed this sunspot with my Sunspotter Solar Telescope & the spot is quite small. It is growing though so I'll make another observation tomorrow.

I just observed the sun with my Sunspotter Solar Telescope. Sunspot # AR 2699 has split into two separate sunspot groups. It does look to me like the sunspot group has started to decay a little.

I observed the sun with my Sunspotter Solar Telescope. The sun is blank now after a very small sunspot faded away.

Today, I viewed the sun with my Sunspotter Solar Telescope. Once again the sun has no sunspots on it. It's been blank for several days now.

This morning I observed the Sun with my Sunspotter Solar Telescope. The sun now has 3 impressive Sunspot groups. Sunspot AR2681 is getting ready to move off while sunspot groups AR2682 & AR2683 are now on the sun's face. It looks to me like these sunspots may become active & possibly send a CME our way. Let's wait & see.

This morning I looked at the two giant sunspots AR2673 & AR2674. AR 2673 just sent an CME towards Earth & we should get good auroras on the 6th or the 7th. These spots can be seen with ordinary eclipse glasses now. I just viewed them with mine.

This morning, I observed the sun with my Sunspotter Solar Telescope. Sunspots AR2673 & AR2674 are growing rapidly & either group could unleash a powerful CME towards Earth. If this happens, Auroras will occur.

This morning, I observed the sun with my Sunspotter Solar Telescope. A rather large sunspot grouping, AR2674, is now crossing the sun's face. I am also able to see the sunspots with my small 7X50 solar scope. Ahead of this group is a smaller sunspot, AR2673. The sun is really active this morning.

This morning, I observed the sun with my Sunspotter Solar Telescope. A fairly large sunspot, AR2674, has just appeared on the sun. I think it will be an interesting spot to follow because it looks impressive. We'll see if it sends a CME in our direction.

Who said the sun is becoming quiet? While observing the sun a few minutes ago, I saw that old sunspot group AR2671 was getting ready to rotate off the sun's face, another sunspot group, AR2672 was rotating onto the sun's face. Yes. The sun seems to be getting quite active & I think this new sunspot group may throw a CME towards Earth resulting in possible auroras.

This afternoon a large groups of us observed the partial solar eclipse. We watched as 68.3% of the moon got covered by the moon's shadow. Also, because there were high thin clouds, we were able to see a ring around the eclipsed sun. It was a great day for all of us.

This morning I observed the sun with my Sun Spotter Solar Telescope. A new sunspot group, AR2671 has appeared on the sun's face. It's possible that this grouping will produce an X class flare which may cause auroras down the road. I also think this spot will still be on the sun's face on 8/21 when the solar eclipse occurs. That would be a nice double header.

Around noon today my brother Anthony & I observed the sun with my Sunspotter Solar Scope. One spot, AR2670, continues to move across the sun's face. It doesn't look like it will cause any auroras though.

This afternoon, I observed the sun with my Sun Spotter Solar Telescope. A new sunspot just rotated onto the sun's face. This was the same spot that brought a great aurora about 2-3 weeks ago. It doesn't look like it is very powerful this time around though.

This morning I observed the sun with my Sun Spotter Solar Scope. There was only one tiny sunspot on the eastern limb of the sun. Otherwise, the sun's face was blank.

I just observed the sun with my Sun Spotter Solar Telescope. Only one tiny spot #2654 was on the sun's face. Nothing else was seen.

This afternoon, I aimed my Sunspotter Solar Telescope at a very large sunspot on the sun. this sunspot had a large area of facula around it & I must say, this was one of the largest sunspots I have ever observed. Very Impressive.

Just before sunset, my brother Anthony & I were able to view the beginning of the partial solar eclipse with eclipse glasses. The sun showed a little chunk taken out on its left side before it set. That's all we in the northeast could see.

I just viewed one of the largest sunspots I've ever seen with my Sunspotter Solar Telescope. If we don't get a great aurora from this, we never will.
