GAAAHHHH SO CUTE. >/////<

I googled this and found conflicting information on why snakes do this. Most of it said it’s to reset their jaws. Wikipedia also had a line about “respiratory reasons” but did not detail what they are.

And then I found another article about snakes also “yawning” to pick up chemical cues from their environment. This snake pokes it head forward and flicks it tongue before yawning just like the article describes, so maybe it was doing that? I wonder what chemical cues it got from that person’s hand…
