Thursday, July 3rd, 2014I’ve been officially working while we’re in the mountains, but today I took a vacation day so Linda, William, Rory and I could go for a hike above Tom’s Place in the Little Lakes Valley. Even though Linda and I lived in Mammoth for several years at one point, we never visited this particular spot, so all the (spectacular) views were new to me. One place in particular, where the trail first reaches Heart Lake, was over the top in the scenic-beauty department. But it was all great.
Rory loved it, especially swimming in the lakes. Also fun to watch was his reaction to seeing horses for the first time. (Freaked out, making his “I’m terrified but I must defend my pack!” bark, then gradually calming down as he realized he wasn’t about to die.)
