The Ladies of Shipwrecked Present: Grimm Fairy Tales
We were so excited to start 2019 off with a new vintage-inspired photoshoot, this time portraying our favorite Grimm Fairy Tales! We had a great time putting a vintage spin (in Sinéad’s case, VERY vintage) on Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White, and Cinderella. Thanks to our friend Eric Carroll for shooting! Sinéad’s dress and most of MK’s outfit are from Playclothes in Burbank.

How about we vote in a law that puts a cap on how long a government shut down can happen… say 20 days… before the president has to agree to a budget solution or else the 21st day congress begins the process of impreachment because civilian jobs and salaries and livelihoods are not a bargaining tool for the president to abuse is order to get their way
If you aren’t serving the people then you aren’t doing the job of the presidency and you need to be replaced
AMEN

Actually curious now how long they can keep this up.
I’m guessing longer than I can.

“Your circle…it’s flawless. Do it again.”
what kind of sorcery….
beauty
IMPOSSIBLE STOP IT
In every generation, there is a chosen one…
MY MIDDLE SCHOOL SCIENCE TEACHER WAS SO GOOD AT DOING THIS SHE WENT TO A COMPETITION FOR IT. THERE ARE PERFECT CIRCLE DRAWER COMPETITIONS.
SARAH MICHELLE GELLAR SHOW ME YOUR WAYS
“no i dont want your fucking autograph do the circle thing”
Even more, look at the first one compared to the second one. In the second one, she can just keep her arm moving in a circular motion and draw one that way. Still very hard but the arm motion would help out a lot. But in that first one…Jesus, she’s kneeling down and twisting her body and wrist and standing up and still drawing it flawlessly!
this reblog from the lies tumblr ca. 2014 brought to you courtesy of procrastination and my broken theme that had me looking at random old pages
and i still boggle at this

Lady Bird (2017) dir Greta Gerwig
Saoirse Ronan had done some stage work prior to filming the movie, and the heavy make-up combined with hot stage lights had caused some spontaneous eruptions of acne. Rather than covering it up, the make-up artist and Ronan convinced director Greta Gerwig to leave it visible, to differentiate the movie from most other coming-of-age dramas full of teenagers with perfect skin. Gerwig concurred.

Jim Lee (not the comic book artist) is a printmaker and book artist who specializes in a technique called “reduction printing.” Reduction prints are a type of color woodcut that use only one piece of wood–after you stamp one color, you cut pieces away from your stamp, creating a new matrix out of your old one.
There are two things I love about this technique. First, when you finish a color and move to the next one, that’s it. You can’t fix any mistakes and you can’t create a second run of your print, because the thing that made your previous layers no longer exists. You’re burning your bridges behind you. Second, there is no way to really know what your finished piece is going to look like, because finishing requires creating and destroying a bunch of pieces that don’t exist yet. Yes, that’s kind of true for all art: you never know what you’re going to end up with. But there’s something different about the way you have to do this in a very particular order, and the way that you must destroy your tools to finish the work.
