Dear Lies – it boggles my mind that your beautifully articulated comment to my little reply on a photoset/gif or whatever it was of Faramir produced so.many.notes ��But then it IS a great analysis so I perhaps I ought not to be so incredulous ��. And, imho, this is a classy response. Love what you love in fandom and let others do the same! Not everyone’s preferences will perfectly align and nor should they.

I think the main reason it got so many notes was @kiezh‘s addendum. I’ve seen that before, where an addition by someone else makes a post of mine much more compelling. That happened with my gifset about the “sign of the V8″ in Fury Road; it was only after @leepala added a gif of an actual V8 engine block that that post took off. At a little over 29K it has the most notes of any post of mine so far, and nearly every reblog is of the version with @leepala‘s addition. I get notifications about that post all the time, while @leepala only gets a notification in the rare event someone likes or reblogs their specific reblog. It hardly seems fair.
