Sorry for the lack of big-birding-weekend updates; I was running behind schedule after the Santa Ynez River estuary and forgot to post an update, and then the last several stops had me beyond cell coverage.
Santa Ynez River estuary: The waves were pretty big, which made it really hard to look for the White-winged Scoters that had been reported there, but I saw a Dunlin (#16), which was a very nice consolation. Then I headed to Miguelito Canyon Park where I saw a Varied Thrush (#17). After that I had a really nice time birding a really special spot, but added no county-year birds there so I’ll spare you the details.
